A woman’s body is a complex and wonderful creation indeed. There are so many different organs and systems in play revolving around a woman’s ability to bear a child that oftentimes, a medical condition may arise. One of the more common of these is ovarian cyst pain.Ovarian cyst pain is among the most common and prominent symptoms that women with cysts in their ovaries might experience. Pain can be commonly felt on the lower back, abdomen and pelvic areas. Pain can be caused by either a twisted, ruptured or bleeding cyst.
A cyst is a common medical term that denotes a fluid filled sac. They can occur anywhere in the body and for a variety of reasons, most of them harmless. An ovarian cyst is simply found, you guessed it, in the ovaries. There are a number of ovarian cysts that can form, with varying degrees of severity but the two most common are Follicle cysts and Corpus luteum cysts.
Women with this type of ovarian disease often experience having pain during sexual intercourse, menstrual periods and after strenuous activities such as exercise. Patients may also experience having pain while urinating and during bowel movements.
Ovarian cyst pain not only affects a woman physically, but also mentally and emotionally. To get relief from this symptoms, regular pain killers are commonly used. And if the pain gets stronger, you can use prescription pain killers.
Taking a hot bath or using a heat pad to apply heat to the affected region and avoiding strenuous activities are also able to relieve the pain. But, you must bear in mind that pain medication and heat therapy only provides temporary relief. They are not able to provide a solution to the root of the problem.
In order to get rid of ovarian cyst pain, you must go to a doctor the minute you have any of these symptoms. The doctor will examine you and then, he will usually ask you to return in a couple of months to see if the cyst has changed.
Surgery can also be undertaken to treat ovarian cyst pain. But this type of treatment is done only if the cyst has been left untreated for a long time and the risk of malignancy has emerged due to it. Surgery is rarely done on a patient since 95% of cysts that develop on the ovaries are non-cancerous.
Healthy eating can always provide wonderful results. It will also help if you can increase your fiber intake. If you have been diagnosed with this ovarian disease, you should choose your food wisely. Don’t eat too many processed or junk foods.
