Signs and Symptoms of an Anxiety Disorder

    Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in America, even more common than depression. Anxiety disorders cost the United States of America $46.6 billion every year.Generalized Anxiety Disorder is just one of these anxiety disorders. Generalized anxiety disorder symptoms affect approximately 4 million people in America alone on a regular basis. Interestingly enough, it also affects twice as many women as men.

    A person with anxiety status may suffer different anxiety disorder symptoms. And because there are no two individuals same, the anxiety disorder symptoms may differ from one person to the other.. Worry, fear, and anxiety are a normal part of our life. Have you ever experienced feeling anxious before taking an exam and later find out that you got a higher result more than what you have expected? Or have you ever felt anxious for a job interview and ended up getting hired, or felt frightened walking down an alley where bad things often happened? Normal anxiety helps us get by in any stressful situation, it also keeps us definitely watchful.

Waking up in the morning although well rested, Fatigue can quickly step in and cause shortness of breath, and possibly sweating also. During the day energy can suddenly go from normal to very low. It can interrupt and affect numerous things in your usual every day routine.

    Another Physical Symptom of Anxiety Disorder can be an upset stomach. This symptom as with some of the others by themselves are difficult to isolate by themselves, as it could be a host of different possible issues at hand. However, when coupled with some of the major related symptoms to this (such as constant fear, dread, etc…) it can help to pinpoint the source of the problem. An upset stomach may also lead to diarrhea.

    Treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder

    Generalized Anxiety Disorder  sufferers have unrelenting worry and anxiety. Everybody worries about things everyday, but GAD victims take it to another level completely.     Cause of Social Anxiety Disorder

    A simple definition of Social Anxiety Disorder is the fear involved with people interacting with other people, a fear that they don’t measure up to another’s social standard. As you look at your own social life, you no doubt have had occasional moments or times of stress or even a mild panic attack in a particular situation. However, Social Anxiety is different in that it doesn’t just happen once in a while; it’s something that is permanently with you and affects many of your daily routines. It causes this person to become extremely stressed, unnaturally focused on self in that they feel they are the center of attention; all eyes are upon them, judging them, and waiting for that fatal foul-up!

    Studies show that over 90 percent of Social Anxiety Disorders are misdiagnosed as manic depressive, schizophrenia, panic disorder or other related disorders. The treatment must be specific to the proper social disorder in order for it to be effective. And Social Anxiety Disorder definitely requires proper treatment!

    Social Anxiety can develop from a number of sources and at any age.. Studies have shown one source to possibly be genetics. From the study of identical twins having identical genes, they have found that both have developed Social Anxiety Disorder. On the other hand, studies of fraternal twins, twins that don’t have identical genes, have found the twins don’t share the Social Anxiety Disorder.

    The second commonly believed cause originated from a study of animal behavior, which says that all animals are fearful of others, especially strangers looking or staring at them. Staring is generally considered threatening behavior, and can unsettle the other person. Therefore, avoiding eye contact or averting the gaze is very common in people with social anxiety disorder. It is usually seen that fear of strangers develops in very young babies, as early as 7 months of age. Though it is natural for young children to be anxious around strangers, trauma or stress in the early years is perceived as a probable cause for this order.

    Common Treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder

    Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), a class of antidepressants, are considered by many to be the first choice medication for generalised social phobia.

    Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) may be helpful in the treatment of social anxiety disorder. It teaches people with social anxiety disorder to react differently to the situations that trigger their anxiety symptoms.

    MAOIs and benzodiazepines may require more monitoring than other medications.

    Beta blockers are sometimes used with performance anxiety, a specific kind of social anxiety.

    Benzodiazepines are a short-acting and more potent alternative to SSRIs. The drug is often used for short-term relief of severe, disabling anxiety
